Paul Holmes MP and Chesterfield Liberal Democrats: Listening to and Fighting for Chesterfield

Liberal Democrat leader shows his support for the child poverty targets

12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Wed 19th Dec 2007

The Campaign to End Child Poverty warmly welcomes the fact that Nick Clegg's first formal meeting was on child poverty, where he stated it reflected a "deliberate decision to start bluntly with children". He made clear in the meeting his personal commitment to achieving the child poverty targets. We look forward to seeing how Liberal Democrat policies will lead to meeting the 2010 and 2020 child poverty targets, to make a real difference to the 3.8m children currently living in poverty.
