Paul Holmes MP and Chesterfield Liberal Democrats: Listening to and Fighting for Chesterfield

LEVEL OF GOVERNMENT INCOMPETENCE SHOCKING

12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 20th Nov 2007

Paul Holmes MP for Chesterfield today criticised the government after two computer discs holding the personal details of all families in the UK with a child under 16 have gone missing (25 million people). This could affect over 35,000 adults and children in Chesterfield alone.

Commenting Paul Holmes MP said

"The depth of this Government's incompetence is truly shocking. As a result of this the personal details of hundreds of my constituents are now missing potentially leaving them open to financial fraud. This is not the first time that the Government has 'mislaid' confidential personal information.

"This is a staggering level of ineptitude from an increasingly error prone Government"
